But when I saw a 3D trailer for [...]]]> If  you have been reading this blog for a while, you will probably know, that I am not exactly a Transformers fan. After the first part I was quite much hating it – the shallow characters, the over-idealized women and plot so full of holes like swiss cheese.

But when I saw a 3D trailer for Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon, I was so impressed by the quality! I was like “ok, my brain might die, but I just gotta see it”. So yesterday I hauled some friends to GV in Vivo, to see the movie in 3D.

Although the plot was still shallow and draggy, the characters annoying and one-dimentional, I still TOTALLY LOVED the movie. The quality of graphics was AH-MAZ-IIIIIING! One of very few 3D movies that didn’t give me the uncomfortable head-spins. The details of the robots were mind-blowing. And for the first time they actually blended in with the rest of the world not looking super-fake.

The movie drags a bit at the beginning, but compensates with some simple humor and great action scenes later on. I’m actually appreciative of replacing Megan Fox with the new hot blond chick. She still might be spreading some unrealistic ideas of female beauty (not a gram of fat on her skinny tights, but a full round butt to go along ), but she was somehow less annoying and more “humane”.

To sum it up: highly recommended to watch in a movie theater with good quality 3D, friends and a bucket of pop-corn.

The choreography, stage decor, Kylie herself… and of course, her Dolce & Gabbana designed outfits!


But it sort of felt funny when she started to sing her ancient tunes, like Locomotion or Lucky in Love… I suddenly had flashbacks of the 6-year old me jumping in front of the mirror and squeaking “I should be so lucky…”, and then my mom scolding me, because she though Kylie was trashy FML xD.

Anyway, if she comes back with another concert, I’m so going!

When I was a teenager, I would spend A LOT of time playing games like Baldur’s Gate, Planscape, etc… [...]]]> Since this blog obviously starts to have nothing to do with beauty and cosmetics, I hope it’ll be excused if I wrtie about a game I’ve been playing recently , and loving it totally: Dragon Age 2.

When I was a teenager, I would spend A LOT of time playing games like Baldur’s Gate, Planscape, etc… I love fantasy games – dragons, elves, swords! But for the past few years I couldn’t really find a fantasy game that I would truly like, so in the end I have resorted to playing MMOs like Lineage II and Warhammer.

But with Dragon Age 2 I got truly reminded why I loved fantasy games in the first place! Great plot, not too shabby graphics, dragons, magic and mythical creatures! All with a very “old school” flavour of mystery and adventure, while fully benefiting from current technical abilities of AI and design.

Additionally, I think it’s a game many girls would enjoy playing – because of the plot and character development. Dragon Age 2 has enough depth and combinations of plot and character development, that it can hold attention of those that look into games nto only to kill dragons. I really liked some of the romance plots, that add another layer to the game.

I bought coach tickets from some discounted deals site, and they came together with a 70% discount for stay [...]]]> So I travelled again! This time just a short trip to KL – everyone kept telling me that one day is enough to see KL, but I so don’t agree! I wanna go back and see more!

I bought coach tickets from some discounted deals site, and they came together with a 70% discount for stay at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur. Sounds fancy, no? So me and my travel buddy left Singapore on Friday 5pm and embarked on a 6h ride in the luxury coach. I’ve heard ppl say numerous times that travel by coach is better than by plain and takes roughly same time. But it was EXHAUSTING! Dunno why… just was.

So next day I walked around KL a lot. Went to see the towers, saw a gigantic shopping mall, then decided that maybe I could see the Masjid Jamek, but when I got there it was too late and I didn’t have head scarf anyways… Maybe next time? From there I just walked around, ended up in the hibiscus garden (major nice!) and then just headed for supper at an Iranian restaurant – super delish! Next day was just the coach ride back home.

The only thing that I didn’t like in the whole trip was the service at Hotel Istana – it was seriously bad. When we came in the middle of the night, and our credit card didn’t work at first two swipes, the staff was like totally oblivious. Only after one of their seniors intervened they figured out how to use the card. Then next day, after I came back from whole day of walking in the hot sun all sweaty and stinky, it turned out the bathroom got cleaned out of all towels. And it took ONE HOUR to get them to the room. I was seriously dyeing there… And to add insult to injury next morning there was no hot water, just icy cold. I was seriously put off by the super atas appearance of the hotel, and it’s lacklustre service.

Anyways, I still wanna go back! But for now, some photo memories:

Let me start by saying I can stomach almost any silly movie. I was delighted to watch Solomon Kane, I laugh at every silly lines in Pirates of the Carabiean, and can stand even the cheesiest of the cheesy romantic comedies. So for me to say, a movie was BAD, is a big thing. And when in comes to Fast Five, the only review I can give it, is plain BAD.

Don’t get me wrong – I do understand, that the franchise is trying to evolve from it’s original street racing roots. I’m cool with that. But an action flick needs one thing – action. And that is not really the case in Fast Five. The first half of the movie drags mercilessly, touching on subject of daddy issues, pregnancies and family. It’s just a lot of pointless bla bla bla, deliver in a silly pompous way, that almost makes you expect the actors to burst into laughter at how ridiculus the dialogs are.

Dude, where are the cars?

The second half offers some action. But as any successful action movie tells us, you need two adidtional factors: hot babes and big guns. FF fails at both. The leading actresses are both skinny and dired up. My heart was breaking looking at their receeding hair line, deep wrinkles, saggy boobs and thin hair. It’s just a sad view, one that makes you think both of them wondered of from a war movie set, where they are playing starving slaves or something. It’s just painful to watch. Aren’t there seriously any young and fresh actresses with perky boobs and plump faces in Hollywood?

With the big guns territory, the movie fails as well – we only get a few glimpses of technology here and there, a few short car racing scenes, and that’s it. Whatever fights there are in the movie, they are just brutish fist-throwing sessions. The shooting scenes are hilarious – there is a lot of cross fire, a lot of men falling, with not a bit of gore or drama. Even the blood on the shirts of the fallen is of a bluish hue. All of this adds up to bleak and draggy action scenes.

To sum it up: weak and pointless movie. Buy the DVD for you younger brother.
